This past week in game design we have once again started modeling in 3ds Max. It has been almost a full year since the last time we did modeling and let me say this; coming back is not easy. The first thing I needed to do was to once again get used to the physics and logic (or lack thereof) of 3ds Max. This involved reacquainting myself with all sorts of goodies such as view ports, primitives, and modifiers. I also had to remember things like key board shortcuts and
re-familiarize myself with the layout of different objects and tools. All these helped me greatly as we began to dive into our first new unit dealing with rigging and bones. Some things did come back easily though such as moving around perspective view and using basic tools such as the move and scale tools. All in all things are slowly coming back to me so hope fully in another week I will have gotten back my old skills and be well on my way to be a great 3d modeler.

It's now week 3 of our 4 week group project to design and create a board game. As the writer of the my group things are really starting to heat up as I try and finish names and descriptions for over 200 cards and run them by my group for input. The hardest thing I've had to do in this is keep my group on track and focused. There have been several times where members of our group (me included) have not been completely focused on the project and in those times I did my best to bring us back to the task at hand. For my individual assignments as a writer I had the hardest time with writing a press release. This was mainly because I had never seen of read a press release so I had close to no idea what should be on it. This prompted some research and I was able create what I believe is a pretty good press release without quotes since even at this point no one has played our game. I also had a hard time writing a rule book so that it would be simple, visually appealing, and functional. All in all I belive my group has done a good job on this project and will create a fun game most anone can enjoy.
